Editorial:
As 2009 comes to its end, it’s now Christmas time, season’s greetings…and of course gifts.
For gifts please schedule our annual convention on the 24th of February at the Palais Brongniart in Paris.
What should be bear in mind for this past year?
In February we have presented 3 scenarios’ for our goals and communication. This year the most ambitious one has been realized:
-ANACOFI (National Association of Financial Advisors): 1000 companies are now members of our association; coming from 650 in 2008.
-ANACOFI-CIF (regulatory branch): Regarding only CIFs over 1000 companies… this will be technically materialized at the end of January (coming from 670 in 2008).
Almost each and every 2009 goals have been implemented:
- Public Relation services
- market platform
- Free Legal services for members
To emphasize our success, a large choice of liability insurance policies is now dedicated to our members.
Also should not be forgotten the CIFA (international conference of financial advisors) Paris meeting that had been very successful.
Moreover, we lead the French section of the “European Federation of advisors and financial intermediaries” (FECIF)
From the regulation point of view, this year was quite hectic with numerous consultations and regulations.
Compliance with regulatory authorities’ requirements has been very difficult in 2007 and even more time consuming for our members in the couple past years.
To illustrate the above our internal regulation member’s booklet grew from 40 to 86 pages.
It is just a start, but we had been advised that a pause in regulation expansion may be scheduled in…2012!
As you know we are still sticking to our main purpose to help and facilitate our members to comply with regulatory evolutions:
-Official Professional representation
-Think tank dedicated to entrepreneurs in our field with adequate services for compliance
Answers to disappointments for 2009
Disappointments: Could be found in “tracasserie” from other fellow association
We had to suffer mainly from lack of exchange and on unfunded direct attacks.
This is what could be said regarding worries.
Answers:
-75% of all newly regulated members joined the ANACOFI this year
-Governmental requested report (Deletre Report) has confirmed our position and views on French IFA market regulation.
-Only associations and syndicates that have accepted exchange and dialog are actually represented at the European federation or the international conference.
At last but not at least; gift to each and every one:
Coming from 3 staff members four years ago, 25 are now working together.
A Great work as been completed this year by all staff, office, area representatives, counselors and administrators. This has been completed with a great team spirit. I am very grateful and I thank them all for that, and take this as a personal precious gift
This year has also been the year of press, national and international authorities’ recognition.
The ANACOFI could surprise us again this coming year by its growth.
The future looks bright because numerous companies are in the process to join our membership and two professional associations are negotiating to become part of our confederation.
Perspectives:
-New website expected before the 15th of January, with a dedicated access for our members.
-New E learning is also implemented for our mandatory training
-New Larger choice of professional liability policies.
-New networking service to purchase or sell companies between members only.
All our resources are now mobilized to make our annual convention a top event and a real party for members and friends.
Last gift: from us to others:
We have begun as promised to participate in some charities and we will pursue:
This year For the CIFA we had invited l’”Institut du Cerveau”.
At the end of this year, we have signed a permanent agreement with the foundation de France.
